This town founded around 1000 AD is an example of a walled regional town. Small and with a lovely and interesting Roman centre it was erected as a military defensive position with a maze of narrow streets lined with historic buildings.

There are a few buses from Arezzo or a slow train running from Perugia so it´s not the easiest town to visit. This probably explains Sansepolcro’s lack of visitors.
